When WordPress executes get_field(‘campus’) and the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin isn’t active or installed on the production server, PHP doesn’t know what that function is. It immediately throws a Fatal Error: Call to undefined function get_field(), which kills the script on the spot and leaves your news layout completely broken or blank.
